WHO WE ARE

Island Hospitality Group was founded in 2011 by self-named 'Energy Chef' Horatio Smith.

In 2019, Energy Chef Horatio Smith began his quest for a serene pace of life and relocated to Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera with his wife Ashli. It was a seamless transition for the island native who lived and schooled in Eleuthera during childhood. In Eleuthera, Horatio and Ashli found the secret to living - good energy - and committed to curating experiences centered on that.

As a trained chef and certified Wedding & Events Planner, Horatio's talents created room for him in the ripe Eleutheran market. Chef Horatio Alexander specializes in Caribbean fusion cuisine, building on traditional dishes that satiate your palate and soul. Through the popular Chef's Experience, Horatio opens The House, a charming home enriched with nostalgia, to guests who seek authentic and homely island experiences.  This experience is marked by art, culture, spirited conversation, and delectable spreads.

For guests wanting in-person dining experiences, Horatio owns and operates Da Perk, a quaint cafe in the heart of Governor's Harbour, and Briland Wave, an outdoor bistro in Harbour Island. Beyond the Energy Chef's cuisine, these establishments are centers for art and culture, artists, and those who love to support them. Fancy handmade jewelry and reworked/upcycled vintage clothing? Stop by and inquire about Artsea Bae, a brand founded by Ashli.

When Horatio is not curating experiences that become life-lasting memories for you and your loved ones, he enjoys spending time with Ashli and their daughter, Koffy Blue, with frequent beach days, quick boat trips to Harbour Island, and the other pleasures of the quintessential island life.
